Coffee Love Reworked

Creating new designs can make me feel like I'm making progress but  sometimes looking back and reworking old ones helps me to see what I've learned.  In this case for Coffee Love, I've chosen colors that work together better, varied the scale of each design and simplified the mug motif into a new pattern.  The previous version is below.  I think I've made progress with the new one!

New Collection

Designing cards to give to family and friends has been a great way for me to be inspired and helps me to finish a project.  Karis' Summer Collection above started from a card for a friend's baby shower. The baby's name will be Karis which means "graceful" in Greek.

This iPhone case will be one of the prizes at Women Wine and Wisdom one year anniversary celebration tomorrow.  I've had fun making the packaging for it!

Seven Times 10

A family member turned 70 recently so I made a card for him.  It was good opportunity because I did not have a 70 card in my Milestone card series.  I have continued with the design by cutting and rearranging:

Line Drawing Class

http://www.creativebug.com/

Recently I came across the art work of Lisa Congdon and I am so enthralled by her work.  She is talented in many arenas like illustration, painting and pattern design.  There is an ease and lightheartedness to her work that is delightful.  She is teaching a Line Drawing class at Creativebug.  The first week was about drawing flowers and this week is about geometry.  It looked fun and not too time consuming as far as the video sessions,  so I decided to take it to get my creative juices flowing.

This is my first attempt at flowers and triangles, Lisa Congdon style.  It was actually really fun to draw the same shapes over and over and let it just flow onto the paper.

Our Faithful Four Legged Companions

Lilo can be very patient.  Usually, she waits for me on the sofa perched on a comfy pillow waiting till I am ready to take her on a walk.  Sometimes she falls asleep during this time but other times she just stares intently at me until I finally get up from the computer.  But in this picture,  she could be telling me that I need to get back to blogging more often.  Thank you Lilo!
